Jittabugs was founded in 2008 by Caroline Ashworth. Caroline trained as a professional performer and gained her dance teacher qualifications (A.I.S.T.D) and went on to an exciting career in the arts working on TV, theatre, theme parks, holiday centres, hotels & much more. She then went on to open up Stagestruck Theatre School for age 4 to 18 year olds, which won her an award with The Prince’s Trust.

The benefits these children gained from acting, singing and dancing inspired Caroline to research into the benefits for pre-school.

Caroline was expecting a baby in 2008 and wanted to attend classes with her new baby in her local area but found there weren't too many options.

So whilst on maternity she began to write her programs for a Jittabugs Move & Groove program for babies and for toddlers. 

Caroline is also a trained Infant Massage instructor (I.A.I.M), Baby Sign tutor, a qualified Infant Yoga Instructor (A.S.E.T) and has had training in Multi Sensory Play.  She has attended a 2 day Makaton foundation course and is pediatric first aid trained.

She has trained as a performer at The Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre gaining a diploma as a professional and also as a dance teacher and also has an R.S.A Exercise o Music certificate. Caroline's latest venture is training to become a pole dance instructor!!

Jittabugs classes began in her home town of Clitheroe and soon became a national company offering classes around the U.K.

Caroline is also a local supporter for Change 4 Life. She also believes in Mums being able to have the opportunity to run their own business's and have a work/balance lifestyle that is not usually possible when you return back to your jobs after having a baby.

This is why she now franchises/licences Jittabugs, she offers full support to her franchisees/licencees and all of them are mums to young children. Caroline hopes Jittabugs will continue to grow and that mums and babies/toddlers everywhere enjoy taking part in these sessions. It is well documented that there are so many benefits to young children listening to music, being massaged and taking part in movement not to mention the wonderful bonding experience between mum/dad and baby.
